COOLGLIDE® VEIN THERAPY
CoolGlide® Laser Vein Therapy is a safe and and effective way to treat spider veins. The laser uses a focused beam of light whose wavelength is targeted to the pigment in the blood. The laser heats up the small vein and destroys it without damaging the nearby skin tissue. Number, color, and size of vessels will determine the number of treatments required. Often 1-4 treatments are sufficient. We recommend 6 weeks between treatments. Over a period of four to six weeks, the vein is reabsorbed by the body and disappears.
SCLEROTHERAPY
Sclerotherpay remains the gold standard treatment for unsightly spider veins and feeder veins. The FDA approved sclerosing solution, Asclera®, is injected into the problem vein causing it to close and eventually disappear. Asclera® is a prescription medicine that is injected into unsightly spider veins and feeder veins. It works by damaging the endothelium, the cells lining the inside of blood vessels. This causes blood platelets and cellular debris to attach to the lining of the vessels; eventually, cellular debris and platelets cause the blood vessel to close. Over time, the closed vein will be absorbed by the body and replaced with tissue.
